Description
Denton Mine, Hardin County, Harris Creek Sub-District, Illinois
This fluorite is a classic piece from the world-famous Denton Mine in southern Illinois. It has a bright yellow core with multiple phantoms on its periphery. In ambient light this appears blue, but strong lighting reveals phantoms in blue, purple, and light blue colors. The crystal faces are smooth with some reticulation at the base of the piece. Tiny chalcopyrite’s are attached. There is tiny edgewear to the top corner and the bottom is off of the rock.
