Description
Mibladen Mining District, Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
Supremely lustrous, these orangey and brick red colored vanadinites are from the world’s premier locality for the species. The faces of the sharp, hexagonal crystals are glassy and mirror-like. The front of the late has larger more prominent crystals in a dark red, while the back side of the plate, shows smaller, matte crystals in a tan to orange color. This piece is really interesting because it shows a variety of vanadinites from this locality all of which largely hide the white barite matrix.
