Description
Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil
This unusual tourmaline hosts the unusual color combination of a kelly green outer rim with a sky-blue core. It is doubly terminated with recrystallized ends, one of which shows the sky-blue coloring quite well. The piece has a small sidecar tourmaline which is also doubly terminated. The outside of the piece is heavily decorated with well-formed pink lepidolite crystals and small formations of white albite feldspar. This piece is from an old collection, and unfortunately the exact mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil is unknown.
