Pederneira Mine, São José da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil
An incredibly aesthetic tourmaline from the Pederneira Mine, Brazil. This specimen came from the famous “Rocket Pocket”, which is known for having a particular shaped tourmaline. This specimen is dark green with small red core at the base, the green shifts to a blueish color before it gets to the red center which is common from this pocket. This shows the classic “rocket pocket” termination which is a trigonal termination going up to a pinacoid. This tourmaline is glassy and transparent with great luster. The specimen has been repaired twice and has a few small chips.
