Description
Topaz Mountain, Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah, USA
A sherry-colored topaz crystal is well formed and hosts an unusual and attractive set of inclusions. This piece is flattened with a steeply sloping termination. Shows with extra crystal faces and a small six-sided pinacoid at its very top. Completely inside of the crystal are groupings of metallic black crystals grouped into sprawling formations. While this has not been analyzed, I presume that these are bixbyite inclusions since they are very commonly found in association with these topazes.
