Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myammar (Burma)
A truly iconic specimen of quartz with topaz. This piece has an aesthetic which is no less than absolutely amazing. It is a gigantic gem clear quartz crystal with a perfect and sharp termination and an equally amazing, large topaz crystal perched on the side. The specimen is remarkably free of damage and shows a glassy luster on both the Quartz and the Topaz. The piece is very bright in room light and sunlight and both the quartz and topaz have textbook habits. White on white minerals typically do not have a great aesthetic appeal, but this piece is attention grabbing in most lighting. I think that this may be due to the fact that one of the crystals is at an angle to the other, capturing a silver glow against the other which is very very pretty.
