Description
Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mountains, Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, Tanzania
This tanzanite is one of the few specimens which came out of Tanzania without being treated first. The presence of green or yellow can save a specimen from being treated because of the odd color it turns when you do so. The crystal is also very gemmy and lustrous and has interesting, and somewhat etched terminations. The tanzanite crystal color is vibrantly blue toward the center and the edges go a nice sunny yellow. Also present on this specimen is an interesting formation texture, a feature not often seen in tanzanite’s which are traditionally quite smooth on the surface.
