Description
Malmberge, Gallivare, Lappland, Sweden
Delicate crystals of orange stilbite decorate an intricate lattice matrix. The crystals are small but well formed, giving a pretty sparkling quality to the piece. The piece can be displayed on either side. One side has smaller crystals over intricate bladed structures and vugs while the other side has larger stilbites with formations of a gray mineral. Looking at the mineral under the microscope and in UV light- I believe this is likely chabazite as it has a chalky yellow green fluorescence under both LW and SW UV. Gray to white chabazite has been reported from Malmberget although few specimens were recovered to my knowledge.
