Forra di Bulla (Pufler Loch), Castelrotto,Suisi Alp, Gardena Valley, Bolanzo Province, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy
Pearly spherical radiating aggregates of stilbite arrange in a shallow vug or vein in basalt matrix. Historically this form of stilbite has been deemed “Puflerite” after its locality Pufler Loch. It consists of round “caviar” appearing groupings of calcium bearing stilbite. These are pretty rare and this is a large example which came out of the Harvard Mineral Museum and has its tagging on the base (red numbers).
