Description
Attr. Goble, Columbia County, Oregon, USA
A very pretty double-sided specimen shows white to cream colored stilbites on a blight-colored breccia matrix. The piece stands alone on its bottom with one side showing heavier coverage of the stilbite. The other side shows more isolated stilbites, allowing appreciation of individual crystals. The flat surfaces show an almost metallic chatoyant luster which adds brightness to the piece. This piece is from older collections and has an associated card. While it is definitely from Oregon, I have attributed it to the Goble area in Columbia Co due to its (relatively unusual) breccia matrix and that similar pieces to this were found there.
