Description
Krausenkar, Obersulzbach Valley, Hohe Tauern, Salzburg, Austria
Although the Alps are not really known for their stilbites, this is really an aesthetic little piece. Small white bowties of stilbite are oriented most randomly in a line extending up and over the center of the host rock almost like a ribbon over a present. The matrix shows bedding planes and white and gray layering and a micro druzy of a tiny mineral creates a subtle sparkle over the whole piece.
