Description
Chinchwad, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune District, Maharashtra, India
A beautiful large glistening aggregate of flat topped stellerite forms a full sphere due to its dramatic radial growth. The piece has formed on a light blue gray chalcedony which also hosts a gemmy rhombohedron of calcite. Both the calcite and the stellerite are yellow fluorescent in both LW and SW UV light. The chalcedony matrix is dotted with small white crystals which appear to be apophyllites under the microscope (and they are not fluorescent.) The piece is in good condition without damage except on the plate edges where the piece was extracted.
