Description
Urucum Claim, Galiléia, Minas Gerais, Brazil
From the famous Galiléia garnet finds, this specimen features an orange to red color and a glassy luster. This specimen is gemmy and has a great deal of surface detail, one of the more desirable traits of this locality. The specimen is uniquely structured, creating a somewhat elongated mountain range aesthetic which is defined by sharp, digital-like surface stria. The back of the specimen is also fully crystallized and shows more of an stair-step separation of the formation lines. This piece is gemmy and thin enough to allow glowing color with backlighting. It has minor knicks and scuffs on its edges.
