Description
Strzegom (Striegau), Swidnica District, Strzegom-Sobotka Massif, Lower Silesia, Poland
A really nice combination specimen from Strzegom, Poland features gemmy smoky quartz over albite and blocky tan orthoclase and is dotted with tan to brown stilbite crystals. Strzegom is central in a larger area mined as a granite quarry for industrial silica and showy specimens are rare from here. The back and sides of the piece are off of the rock and the very bottom of the pieces has broken quartz, but the top and central areas are intact. This was apparently found prior to 1926 as a card with the piece indicates it was a gift from Mr. Stutzer (?) at that time.
