Description
White Pine Mine, White Pine, Ontonagon County, Michigan, USA
This specimen is a thin, but bright leaf of native silver from the White Pine Mine in Michigan. The surface and edges show arborescent crystallization. The details so great in number that they can only be truly appreciated with a loupe. The leaf structure has a somewhat interesting shape that suggests it was pressed between host rocks during the initial formation. The quality of crystallization and natural patina, suggests that it was freed later from the confines of its original formation environment. The patina is bright in the center and darkens to a contrasting patina on the edges.
