Description
Morro da Mina Mine, Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais, Brazil
A translucent bright cherry red specimen of rhodonite features a prominent wedge shaped crystal. It has crystal faces that are glassy and smooth with fantastic gemminess and color saturation. There are small areas of green on the matrix which may represent cummintonite, which is often found with the rhodonite in this location. This find in Brazil around 1998 is one of the most important for rhodonite since the Broken Hill pieces were found.
