Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Province, Lima Department, Peru
The Uchucchacua Mine in Peru has produced some of the finest quality rhodochrosite specimens. This palm size plate shows rhodochrosite in a rich pink color, with lots of lustrous and gemmy or translucent crystals. The crystals form small scalenohedrons and sit on a white matrix mixed with manganese host rock. It is an impressive and pretty specimen.
