Description
Cavnic Mine, Cavnic, Maramures County, Romania
This specimen has curved bladed forms of rhodochrosite crystals that are very well defined, nearly resembling cleavelandite. They have a pretty light pink color that is typical from the Cavnic Mine in Romania. The cluster has a fantastic shining luster and beautiful secondary rhombohedral crystals of calcite accenting some of the curved structures on the specimen. These tight clusters of rhodochrosite are famous from this locality although many are malformed or have large sections of damage. This specimen is pristine and aesthetic from all angles, setting it apart in terms of quality and form. This specimen also comes with a custom acrylic base.
