Paulista Village, Presidente Kubitschek, Minas Gerais, Brazil
This beautiful quartz formation is from the Paulista locality in Brazil, a small town which lies less than 50km from the Diamantina area. This area has low production, but some amazing and complex quartz pieces have been found here and have been kept as a bit of a secret. This piece is in a starburst formation with prismatic clear quartz crystals protruding from the center. It has tiny speckles of clay (montmorillonite) and green chlorite on one of its crystals while the others remain undusted. The crystals are well terminated with nice clarity and luster. Overall, the piece is in good condition with only minor bruising to minor crystals.
