Description
Tule Mine, Melchor Múzquiz, Mun. de Melchor Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico
Perfect gem modified cubes of fluorite form an aesthetic grouping on a banded gray and white matrix. The fluorites are light purple with dark purple highlighting the reticulated edges and prominent growth features that have made fluorites from this mine world famous. Typically, these fluorites are seen with white celestite as their “matrix” but this piece really does have true matrix (which is really gneiss) In fact, the fluorites are so gemmy they magnify the banding of the matrix underneath them. The matrix itself has a very fine micro dusting of either celestite or fluorite which causes it to sparkle. Undamaged with top luster, this is a great example of this mine.
