Description
Annabel Lee Mine, Hardin County, Harris Creek Sub-District, Illinois
A cluster of fluorite crystals exhibit a rich multi- shade of purple color, with a sharp top phantom of bright pink to magenta (brought out with bright lighting.) Under the magenta layer is a deep violet, nearly black zone with lilac color beneath. At the center of the cluster is a yellow coloration, but this is only really seen with intense light. Chalcopyrite crystals dot the crystal faces and form in larger groups between them. There are tiny rubs in some areas seen mostly with magnification, but overall, this is a classic and showy Annabel Lee fluorite.
