Large cream crystals of periclase are dusted with matte tan stilbites. Periclase is a variety of albite (a sodium bearing feldspar) which are identified by elongated (b axis) yet still blocky crystals. They are associated with Alpine cleft locations such as the Italian Alps. This plate shows these crystals with good form and definition. The side and bottom of the plate have broken crystals, but the majority of the viewing face is in good condition.
