Description
Vermelhão Mine, Saramenha, Ouro Preto, Iron Quadrangle, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Lustrous and gemmy, this imperial topaz has a very bright reddish orange color with a very rare purple arrow shaped phantom in the middle section of the crystal. While difficult to photograph, this purple band is distinct in person and likely represents an earlier termination of the crystal before it continued to grow. The current termination is sharply prismatic, topping off an exceptional piece. No damage, pristine.
