Description
N’Chwaning II Mine, Kuruman, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Olmiite with Calcite, N’Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. An absolutely magnificent example of this rare species from South Africa! Olmiite crystals are rarely this fine and aesthetic! In person the crystals are unusually lustrous and translucent. This specimen hosts numerous dense crystals of brilliantly lustrous, gemmy, orangy-colored crystals of olmiite in a sandwich formation on manganese matrix. In association with small, pristine calcite crystals. The olmiite crystals are really quite unique and exceptional, and the calcite crystals are present as razor-sharp, gem clear crystals. This specimen is in magnificent condition all around and is absolutely gorgeous in person!!!
