Description
Urucum Claim, Galiléia, Minas Gerais, Brazil
This morganite features a vibrant pink color and a glassy luster present over the surface of the entire specimen. While the crystal is subhedral, it has incredibly gemmy internal clarity which allows the color to glow in virtually any lighting. There are some minor chips on the back edges and a knick against one of the front edges, which is not notable at all without looking closely for it. The crystal deviates slightly from what is expected from the locale. As it shows a completely smooth faces instead of the selectively striated crystal faces seen on many of the pieces. This locality is known for producing some of the best morganite crystals in the world. This piece is a nice example at an affordable price.
