Description
Kerrouchene, Khenifra Province, Beni Mellal-Khenifra Region, Morocco
A most unique spray of malachite from Kerrouchene, Morocco makes a complete flame form. While most malachite is secondary, forming after azurite or other copper crystals, this piece is of a primary malachite which did not alter from a different mineral. Acicular, needle-like tiny crystals of malachite are radiating upward from the matrix for an unusually large and aesthetic specimen of this type. The color is vibrant and it has a most surprisingly high luster. It is created by the slight curving of the individual needles of malachite. Any collector who enjoys the unusual and unique will certainly like this specimen.
