Description
Ladjuar Madan (Lapis Lazuli Deposit), Sar-e Sang District, Koksha Valley, Khash and Kuran Wa Munjan Districts, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan
A very, very sharp crystal of lazurite sits perfectly on its contrasting white marble matrix. The specimen is a classic with sharp edges and intense blue color. It is accented by small pyrite crystals along the edges of the marble. Lazurite is the mineral which gives the popular and beautiful stone lapis lazuli its blue color. It typically is found as massive or embedded formations, so crystals are rare and exceptional crystals even more so. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
