Description
Pederneira Mine, São José da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil
A great gemmy tourmaline from Pederneira is blue to blue-green throughout with subtle color changes from bottom to top. The termination is complete with bipyramidal faces and a tiny flat triangle on the very top. The bottom is recrystallized and there is a small sidecar. The termination of the sidecar is not complete (it is really hard to even see it) and is perhaps recrystallized too. The crystal could facet small stones or be used as a wrapped natural crystal.
