Description
Treasure Mountain Diamond Mine, Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York, USA
A perfect floater crystal of gem Herkimer diamond quartz shows the rare “dumbbell” scepter form with clear quartz on each end of a heavily included hydrocarbon anthraxolite / pyrobitumen stem. A very gemmy and lustrous top termination becomes increasingly included with petroleum and hydrocarbons as it nears the stem. The stem is exposed on one side of the piece for a true “barbell” appearance, while the other side has clear quartz extending down to the bottom diamond shaped termination. Mined in the 2000’s from the now closed Treasure Mountain Diamond Mine. This is a very aesthetic piece showing great contrast in white and black.
