Wedges on ledges! An amazing specimen of very sharp and gem peridot crystals form stacked groupings or subparallel crystals within a tenacious talc-like matrix. The wedge from of peridot is much rarer than the rounded or peaked growths normally seen. These crystals are a lovely bright green, without the brownish or olive colors that so many have. The white matrix could be cleaned further, but I think that the more natural appearance gives a really nice contrast to the crystals. Much of gemmy color is faceted and specimens, especially of this size and caliber are quite rare.
