Description
Annabel Lee Mine, Harris Creek Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
An amazingly large and beautiful fluorite from Annabel Lee Mine in Illinois, USA shows intricate golden yellow cubes of fluorite topped with complex calcite crystals. The fluorites are glossy and cubic and have edges rimmed with light blue and traces of purple. They also have thin phantoms within the centers and chalcopyrites dotted on their faces. The calcites have complex forms that stand on top of the fluorites. In addition, small calcites trace out the fluorite crystal edges giving definition and detail. There is one cleaved fluorite and small amounts of damage to two calcites including one on the end of the piece, but at 19 cm long and bright and sunny, this is a piece that will grab attention and be beautiful in a display.
