Description
Denton Mine (Sub-Rosiclare Level), Harris Creek Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois, USA.
A phenomenal example from the Denton mine, this large grouping of fluorite with calcite is a well crystallized floater specimen with great blue and purple colors. The piece’s crystals are quite large and host skeletal features on their crystal faces. These crystallized depressions within the fluorites are selectively coated with microcrystalline calcites. In addition, various sized sunny yellow calcites decorate the piece, including a large and glowing calcite formation on its side. Chalcopyrite crystals dot the piece adding to its complexity.
