Description
Denton Mine, Harris Creek Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
This is fluorite on chalcopyrite and sphalerite from the Denton mine. The fluorite is a lavender purple color, which is quite vibrant and gemmy as it rises distinctly from the sphalerite grouping on the bottom. It shows subtle phantoms that are accented by chalcopyrite inclusions that follow the phantoms. The sphalerite is highly lustrous with color graduations and internal sparkle. The corners of the fluorite have slight damage, however, the piece is aesthetic and a great example of a classic locality and its mineralization.
