Description
Rogerley Mine, Rogerley Quarry, Frosterley Weardale, Northern Pennies County, Durham, England
Isolated single cubes or a full single crystal face alone is really quite difficult to find in fluorite. This thumbnail from the Rogerley Mine in England shows a full single crystal face on its front. The back shows more of the typical interpenetrant twinning of smaller crystals. It is gemmy with slight daylight fluorescence creating a vibrant teal color.
