Annabel Lee Mine, Harris Creek Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
This Annabel Lee Mine fluorite is deep purple with a yellow center which seems to blend into the purple in an interesting way. This specimen is crystallized completely as a full floater, and has a prominent penetrating twin. The piece has no distinct phantoms but rather a swirling color effect which is really unusual for Illinois fluorite. There are chalcopyrite crystals on the surface and a few included into the specimen. A few minor nicks noted, but otherwise in very good condition.
