Sara Alicia Mine, San Bernardo, Mun de Alamos, Sonora, Mexico
This erythrite is not from Morocco! It is from an old find (pre 1970s) in Sonora, Mexico which reproduced a small number of specimens with small to micro mount sized crystals. The erythrites from here are acicular sprays that form spherical aggregates in the best cases. Also unusual is that the colors can range from light pink to magenta and red and can (rarely) be found on the same piece. This piece is exceptional for the locality with a large size and many beautiful formations that delight both the naked eye and the microscope enthusiast. In addition, small associations of the rare brown heterogenite can be seen as well as white and black stellarite. This piece has some wear on the edges but is delightful in its details which really cannot be captured well in photos.
