Rubtsovskoe Deposit, Rudnyi Altai, Altaiskii Krai, Western-Siberian Region, Russia
This is a very nice cuprite with great crystal structure, stepped edges, and ruggedly defined terminations. While cuprite forms as a red crystal, the oxidation process leads to a silver patina. This piece is from a classic Russian locality and has small wires of native silver interlaced within the stepped growths of the cuprite. A great piece for the detail oriented, this piece is also quite large for the locality.
