Description
Macaco Mine, Conselheiro Pena, Minas Gerais, Brazil
This citrine quartz crystal is very sharp with gem clarity and a nice yellow tone. From Macaco Mine in Brazil, which is known more for its smoky quartz, this piece has subtle twinning which results in three terminations at the top. The bottom is recrystallized and there is no damage. Most citrine used in the the gem trade is heated or irradiated aquamarine and typically has a very saturated golden color. While natural citrine is fairly uncommon and has a more brown or light tone. This is a fantastic and obvious example of natural citrine.
