Description
Annabel Lee Mine, Harris Creek Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois
This piece demonstrates everything I love about minerals. An exquisite miniature of the classic Anabelle Lee mine features two prominent yellow calcites on top of tiny perfect cubes of purple fluorite. Both calcite crystals are terminated. One shows a classic pointed scalenohedron while the other is truncated (not broken) possible from rehealing within the pocket. The fluorites are intact with tiny phantoms really only seen in a microscope. The piece is fluorescent in yellow (calcite) and purple (fluorite) mimicking its daylight coloration.
