Description
Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang County, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China
This fluorite represents the best from this Chinese locality. This extremely lustrous and large fluorite cube has teal, blue, and purple colors in nearly perfect saturation. This piece is neither too dark nor too light in regular lighting condition and still takes directed spotlighting for an amazing glow. It is accented by small amounts of matrix and has quartz points which penetrate the cube at the bottom which gives and interesting detail to the piece without disrupting the beauty of the fluorite itself. This is a magnificent specimen overall and a true rarity for the locality. It has no damage. There are complex contact points lined with small matrix crystals as seen in the photos, almost as if someone left finger impressions in the piece as it formed.
