This locality has produced some of the most classic and easily recognized barite specimens from anywhere in the United States. The classic blue color combines with an elongated prismatic crystal and chisel tip terminations for a beautiful and classic piece. Barite has been known from this classic locale Sterling Mine, Colorado since the 1870’s but this was likely collected around 1990.
