Description
Frizington, West Cumberland Iron Field, Cumbria, England
An extraordinary and aesthetic barite crystal hosts a damage free twinned termination, glassy luster, and pretty bluish and yellow colors. It also has a second barite penetrating through the middle section of it, and is accented by small calcites and areas of reddish dolomite matrix. This is a classic England piece mined in the middle to late 1800s and passed through prominent mineral dealer George English. Even back in the 1800s, these amazing pieces graced collections across Europe and were prized in museums.
