Frizington, West Cumberland Iron Field, Cumbria, England
This aragonite is from England, and is an example of highly sought specimens that come from old collections before 1890. It consists of a large grouping of sharply tapered aragonite crystals that are translucent to transparent taking a very cathedral-like form. It has microcrystals of pyrite which give it a speckled and detailed appearance. The main crystal has a small area of damage, but overall it is in remarkable condition considering how long it has graced beloved collections. This piece is extremely beautiful with directed lighting as well.
