Description
Baltistan, Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan
A highly gemmy aquamarine from the Shigar Valley of Pakistan is doubly terminated with one termination the usual pristine hexagonal pinacoid, and the other a highly etched and modified crystal. It is really usual to have one crystal be both etched and also unetched. One end of the piece must have been protected from the corrosive acids within the pocket somehow. This piece is pretty with directed c axis lighting and hosts circumferential wispy inclusions.
