Description
Doi Ty, Quy Chau District, Nghe An Province, Vietnam
Vietnamese aquamarines are famous for their naturally rich blue colors. This specimen is doubly terminated with one end showing a beveled hexagonal termination, while the other has a partially recrystallized hexagonal termination with a contact. The top termination is complete, but sustained some trauma causing fracturing at the very tip. The body of the crystal shows a medium to dark blue color which really glows with lighting along its length. It is very gemmy and certainly could be faceted- likely one stone in the top half and a second in the bottom half. This is a great little jewel of a modern-day classic.
