Marki Khel, Spin Ghar Range, Khogyani District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan
An interesting plate of variously sized andradite garnet shows superb extra crystals faces (or bevels) which highlight the exquisitely formed crystals. The extra crystals faces show such fine polysynthetic twinning that they almost appear metallic compared to the orange-brown of the flat faces. This has formed over a greenish colored drusy of diopside and calcite rhombohedrons.
