Description
Goboboseb Mountains /Brandberg Area, Daures, Erongo Region, Namibia
Among the amethyst coming from Namibia there are many variations and interesting characteristics which set areas or even pockets apart from each other. This specimen takes the aesthetic of contrast to a whole new level as the main crystal is a variation between completely gem clear to dark, intense purple that resembles grape jelly. This main crystal sits as a spire that towers at an angle over smaller crystals which vary from equally as intense purple to completely colorless gem clear quartz. There are flecks of hematite throughout the crystals which in some areas shows as bloody red needles and others as black twisting leaves. The specimen has a custom acrylic base which accompanies the piece.
