Ladjuar Madan (Lapis Lazuli Deposit), Sar-e Sang District, Koksha Valley Khash and Kuran Wa Munjan Districts, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan
This specimen hosts a beautiful, sharp, lustrous, well-formed, prismatic crystal of afghanite popping out of massive white calcite matrix and is accompanied by other smaller crystals. The afghanite crystal exhibits the classic azure-blue color. Afghanite is still a rare member of the feldspathoid group of minerals.
