CalciteCalcite

Calcite is a rock-forming mineral. It is extremely common and found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Calcite is usually white but also colorless, gray, red, green, blue, yellow, brown, orange. All members of the calcite group crystallize in the trigonal system, have perfect rhombohedral cleavage, and exhibit strong double refraction in transparent rhombohedrons.
